The Poison Garden Stained Glass Embroidery - 8 Week

In this 8-week beginner workshop, using paint and surface embroidery, you will create a fabric mixed media stained glass window! This course emphasizes stitch texture, directional movement, and visual storytelling while encouraging students to develop confidence in their own stitching practice

About the event


Week 1 — Foundations & Frame Preparation Duration: 2.5 hours

Students will:

  • Understand the structure of the project

  • Prepare their embroidery ground properly

  • Assemble ground on frame

  • Construct a custom leather thimble

  • Begin understanding embroidery ergonomics


Week 2 — Color Mapping & Beginning Stitch Structure Duration: 2.5 hours

Students will:

  • Establish color strategy

  • Paint acrylic stained glass panel ground


Week 3 — 7 Stitches Duration: 2.5 hours

Students will:

  • Each week 3-7 students will learn new stitches through demonstration and practice

  • Students are highly encouraged to attend all available slow stitch support classes


Week 8 — Finishing & Surface Resolution Duration: 2.5 hours

Students will:

  • Refine and finish

  • Understand finishing considerations


*OVERALL Recommended Homework Expectation

  • 4–6 hours of stitching between classes (Especially after Class 3 onward)

    •   Students are encouraged to come to the weekly slow stitch sessions on Wednesday to receive help and meet other local needleworkers


*OPTIONAL Week 9- Make-Up Class

  • As each student will work at their own pace, and may need to miss a class, a make up class at the end is available for students to get additional support.

After all creativity is at its best when shared between different voices! If the minimum class requirement is not met we reserve the right to cancel the class. In the event of cancelation all participants will be informed of class closure and issued a full refund.
