Sewing Level 1: Clothes (7 Week Class) - Spring 2026

Learn the basics of sewing in Sewing Level 1. This class is for complete beginners and folks looking for a refresher on sewing.

Starting Week 1, you will learn the Ins and Outs of using your sewing machine. You will practice threading your sewing machine, winding a bobbin, and basic skills like sewing straight lines and creating hems.

We will be using two sewing patterns — the Craft Studio Tee and Kite Pants by Matchy Matchy Sewing Club. Both patterns are extremely beginner friendly, setting you up for a successful sewing adventure!

This class is BYOF (bring your own fabric!). You will need to have your fabric purchased by Week 3. We will go over what type of fabric to buy in Week 1!

Syllabus:

Week 1: Learn how to use your sewing machine, basic stitches, and creating hems.

Week 2: Cutting sewing patterns and reinforcing sewing machine skills

Week 3: Cutting fabric and starting the Craft Studio Tee

Week 4: Finishing the Craft Studio Tee

Week 5: Start the Kite Pants

Week 6: Finish the Kite Pants

Week 7: Wrap up unfinished projects and choice to sew either a scrunchie or pet bandana
