Let’s get stitchy with it! Join Rachel Jackson of The Wild Wherever to learn how to hand embroider photos. This contemporary technique offers a new dimension and life to hand embroidery. Photos will be included, but students are encouraged to bring their own original printed photography.

Binding Baggins is a hands-on bookbinding workshop where participants will learn to transform paperback copies of J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved classic, The Hobbit, into beautiful hardcover editions. Participants will be guided through the process of creating a new hardcover binding.

Learn the basics of Gouache painting in this beginner friendly landscape painting class. We are celebrating Ani-May by honoring Studio Ghibli's famous atmospheric landscapes. Students will paint one Ghibli inspired landscape.

Celebrate Ani-May with us in this Ghibli inspired beginner friendly class. We will create a Chibi Totoro suncatcher from the fan favorite "My Neighbor Totoro". We will also play with bending wire to make the little leaf umbrella Chibi Totoro carries. This class covers the copper foil method.

May 26th is Aaron Douglas' birthday. To celebrate, we will learn about Douglas' role in the Harlem Renaissance, his life as an art educator and visual artist.

Join our "Catbus Bookcraft" workshop this Ani-May and discover the art of rebinding while creating your own custom edition of the My Neighbor Totoro manga! Master hardcover deconstruction, two-color HTV application, and professional bookbinding techniques in this hands-on class.

Join us for a free screening of the first episode of the anime Blue Period. For an evening, we will snack on popcorn, and follow the creative actualization of a Japanese high school student. After the film we will have a short conversation about choosing the creative life.
